Western Canada’s first manufacturer of vinyl windows, Equibuilt originally sold product throughout Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Subsequent years saw expansion into Saskatchewan as well as sales in Alaska, Hawaii and many parts of the northwestern United States. The company’s reputation for high quality and exceptional service owes much to the commitment of Edwin Kittlitz, who purchased the company in 1986 and continued to run the business with son Rod until earlier this year. On March 31, 2008, Equibuilt was bought by Kohltech International, the largest window and door manufacturer in the Atlantic provinces.
Warranty:
PVC - 20 years
Hardware - 10 years
Glass - 5 years (1st year: unit replacement, including labour. 2-5 years: unit replacement, labour charge extra)
Equibuilt Windows and Doors warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship and agrees to repair or replace any items found to be defective due to faulty workmanship or manufacturing error within the following limitations:
1. Sash and frames manufactured from special formula PVC are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship in normal service for a period of 20 years from the date of installation. Equibuilt agrees to repair or replace at the factory any returned product found to be defective. Glass or screen breakage excluded. On-site service calls will be charged at the prevailing rate.
2. Equibuilt does not warrant any glass or hardware sold with any of its PVC products and it is to be expressly understood that the only warranty extended to the glass and hardware aforementioned may be that as provided by the manufacturer of same. Warranty of glass installation or hardware after 1 year will be subject to a service charge.
3. In order to obtain performance of this warranty, contact the dealer from whom the product was purchased or the contractor who installed the product. If these persons are not known, contact Equibuilt Windows and Doors, 7115 Girard Road, Edmonton, AB T6B 2C4. Faulty installation of frame and sash by the contractor or owner due to failure to follow installation instructions provided with each product will cause all warranties expressed or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to be null and void.
4. The sole and exclusive remedy for breach of any express or implied warranty of Equibuilt products is repair or replacement of the product. Equibuilt Windows and Doors shall not be liable under any circumstances for any incidental, consequential or other damages.
